Matcha french toast - because breakfast deserves to be a little extra ✨
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 2 thick slices of brioche bread
- 1 egg
- 100 ml (plantbased) milk
- 1 tsp Kiyomi Matcha
- 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Butter for frying
Topping ideas:
- Greek yoghurt
- (Black)berries
- A sprinkle of matcha powder
Instructions:
- Make the batter: pour the milk in a shallow bowl and sift the matcha powder. Whisk thoroughly until smooth and no clumps remain. Then add the egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Dip the bread: dip each slice of bread into the mixture, letting it soak for about 10-15 seconds on each side.
- Cook: heat a bit of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the bread slices for about 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Serve: plate them up, add your toppings, and dust with a little extra matcha if desired.
